Sahasrayogam – English Translation

Sahasrayoga is one such compendium which literally means ‘thousand formulations, which is very popular in the state of kerala and other adjacent places. The book which was originally written in Malayalam Language, Has chapters organized based on the various Kalpana like Kashaya (Decoction), Taila (Medicated Oil ),Ghrita (Medicated Ghee), Choorna (Powder), Asava/ Arishta(Fermented liquid), Vati/ Gutika (Pill) and Lehya (Linctus)etc. The Central Council for Research in Ayurveda Sciences had earlier translated and published this valuable work in Hindi Language. In continuation to this, an effort is made to translate it to English for the benefit of Ayurveda enthusiasts globally. For this, the Council has taken up an Intra mural Research Project entitled “Sahasrayoga- Translation form Sanskrit/ Hindi to English “Apart from the translation, various indices based on drug source. Botanical source, drug used for specific conditions, list substitutes with possible adulterants etc have also been added.
